All this together, combined with the fact that Lago di Garda is positioned near a great number of big cities makes the whole area a very popular place for holidays and weekends. The area is crowded with tourists during August and during weekends. Because of its popularity Arco has a lot of Hotels, camping grounds, restaurants and bars, so there is no problem to find food and a bed to sleep in though you have to book before leaving during summer.
As you leave Arco and the main roads you will find many places with less tourists, even if the most popular crags can be quite crowded. Crags like Massone, San Siro, Nago, Passo S.
Giovanni has a lot of visitors but does also offer so many climbing routes that everyone has space enough to climb what they want. Those crags can also be recommended if you are visiting Arco for the first time or if you want to climb effective during a short period.
If you are looking for rockclimbing in grades between 4 and 6a Stallavena near Verona and Marciaga near the village Garda is a good choice.
At the campsite you will find an indoor bouldering room for rainy days.
It is quite possible to have a nice visit to the area without needing a hire car, and then the best start is Verona. With a car you will have the possibilities to reach many of the best crags, all of them less than half an hours drive from Arco.
For resting days, take the cable car to the top of Monte Baldo, 2218 m. Drive down to Gardaland, Italics answer to Disneyland. Visit the classic town Venice or Verona, rent a mountain bike, do some wind surfing or take a bath. There is no problem to find activities in the area around Arco.
